Sharing from One Cauldron
Tradition of the month of Muharram
Aşure is cooked in large cauldrons during the month of Muharram and shared with neighbours; the bowl travels door to door, carrying goodwill along with the sweetness. A widespread account says it was cooked from the last provisions on Noah's ark — passed down as folk belief.
