About and method
GustoMesh brings together the cultural memory of Turkish cuisine and a trust-first venue decision engine under one roof. Published today: 178 dish records, 13420 real venues across all 81 provinces, and 20 sourced story cards. Field assessment continues in the Ankara pilot.
Rules of honesty
- A score is never invented; it is given only on structured field evidence.
- No fake review, fake rating or invented content is produced for a real business.
- A directory record is not a recommendation; an unassessed venue is listed without a score.
- External signals (Google, Tripadvisor) are taken only through official APIs and shown separately.
- Badges and visibility cannot be bought; the thresholds are public.
- Personal data is processed at a minimum; decision sessions are measured anonymously and location is not stored.
Frequently asked
- What is GustoMesh?
- GustoMesh is a trust-first gastronomy decision platform that combines an encyclopaedia of Turkish cuisine (GustoAtlas), a directory of real venues and the transparent GustoScore assessment model. Its principle fits in one sentence: Google shows; GustoMesh filters.
- How is GustoScore calculated?
- It is the weighted average of five structured metrics: taste and quality (28%), cleanliness and ambience (18%), presentation and care (18%), service and courtesy (18%), value (18%). A score is given only on structured field evidence; there is no free-text review wall.
- Are the venue records real?
- Yes. Every venue in the public directory is real and comes from OpenStreetMap (ODbL). Records that have not yet been through a field assessment are listed as unscored “directory records”: being listed is not being recommended.
- Do Google or Tripadvisor ratings enter GustoScore?
- No. External ratings are shown only from official APIs, in a separate “external reputation” block, with the source named; they never enter the GustoScore calculation. Review texts are not collected.
- Can the Verified badge be bought?
- No. Verified is earned by meeting public metric thresholds; the thresholds are transparent, the badge cannot be bought and it is withdrawn if breached.
- What sources does the dish content rest on?
- The primary source is the compilation “Turkish Cuisine: History, Recipe and Fine Points” (TMR-2026), supported by UNESCO intangible heritage records, geographical indication registrations and provincial inventories. In origin stories, folk narrative and documented fact are labelled separately.
